Mathematics
t Hempnall, we base our planning on the principles of the White Rose Scheme for maths. The 2014 National Curriculum for Maths aims to ensure that all children:
- Become fluent in the fundamentals of Mathematics
- Are able to reason mathematically
- Can solve problems by applying their Mathematics
At Hempnall, these skills are consistently embedded within Maths lessons and developed over time. We want our children to grow up recognising the importance of Maths in the wider world and giving them the confidence to use their mathematical skills and knowledge throughout their lives.
We want all children to leave Brooke with enjoyment of Mathematics and to consistently experience success in the subject. We are committed to developing children’s curiosity about the subject, as well as an appreciation of the beauty and power of Mathematics.
